Written by Jennifer McLawhorn, Managing EditorNORFOLK, Va. – CSX report repairs to the Berkley Bridge will take a month to complete after an incident occurred along Interstate 264.
On June 18th, the Class I reported a tugboat had struck the bridge that connects the Berkley neighborhood south of the river with downtown Norfolk, rendering the bridge temporarily inoperable. To minimize service disruptions, CSX rerouted trains.
Repairs to the bridge will now take about a month to complete, and CSX will continue to work with local authorities to work on said repairs and minimize service disruptions.
