Metrolinx Begins Bloor-Dundas Tunnel Construction

TORONTO – Metrolinx announces it has started construction between connecting Bloor GO/UP Station and Dundas West TTC Station.

In order to give riders better access between GO, UP & TTC, crews are working on a Bloor-TTC Connection. The contract to construct the pedestrian tunnel was awarded last year, according to Metrolinx. The below street level tunnel will reduce the distance between the stations to 270 meters. This should also help those riders who may have mobility challenges or are travelling with luggage or other baggage. 

Metrolinx reports that around 600 transfers between the stations occur daily, and that number is expected to increase.
